On the 1st of June (well the 2nd of June really given Olaf was one of the litter born after midnight) this little man turned 1. We celebrated with a trip to Lartons pet shop to find some toys and treats and I made homemade doggy cupcakes courtesy of a recipe on the Battersea Dogs website. Both the toys and cupcakes seemed to go down reasonably well with Olaf!
Olaf truly has settled into life with us now and despite initially wanting to send him back where he came from a few times when he was a bundle of puppy mischievousness, he is a very good boy (most of the time!) now and we love him very much. Olaf likes getting brushed and doesn’t mind a bath but isn’t keen on wearing a coat or a harness. His favourite places are the beach, the pond at Adventure Acres and DogsGo doggy day care.
He is food and bird obsessed and runs and runs when he has something to chase. This can be challenging when walking him on a lead but if he doesn’t have something to chase, he is happy at home chilling out destroying toys made out of string and boxes made out of cardboard. He loves other dogs and his best doggy friends include Maple, Reggie, Higgins, Gwladys, Pancake, Charlie and Bailey.
He is a different character to Stella and does not replace her or our memory of her… He both reminds us of her in some ways and is the exact opposite of her in other ways. Mainly he makes us think and talk about her more which we love.
Happy birthday Olaf! Looking forward to adventures with you as a 1 year old!
